Chez nous, runs a river…
The Sioule river crosses our territory and gives its character !
The Sioule Gorge first reveal themselves around Ébreuil, passing through Chouvigny, in the Allier department, until the Queille meander, in the Puy de Dôme department. The road bording the river meanders the abrupt rock, and offers an astonishing panorama over the gorge, steep and green. The Sioule Gorge are registered ZNIEFF, Zone Naturelle d’Intérêt Ecologique, Floristique et Faunistique (Natural Zone of Ecological, Floristic and Faunistic Interest), and the all Sioule basin is a Natura 2000 zone.
The Chouvigny castle oversees the gorge. Below, the river evolves through rapids and meanders. Canoe and fishing are perfect activities to discover the place.
