Born atthe heart of the vineyard more than 70 years ago, Jean Deschatres fell into the wine barrel during his childhood.
Jean naturally took control of the family wine and grain estate. He is madly devoted to the vineyard, and he knows each and every secrets about it, that he, sometimes, shares with other, with a bit of humor and in the Bourbonnais dialect

He retired in 2006 and since then, dedicates his life to the Ancient Grape Varieties Conservatory, right next to the Chareil-Cintrat castle, where he prepares, maintains, conducts visists, & harvests the vines of these old grape varieties with volunteers from the conservatory’s association.
